Aslam Khan is the founder and Chairman of ALS Limited. He started his flying career in the Kenya Air force, joining as a cadet pilot in 1970. He flew with the military up to 1976. Thereafter Aslam worked in the general aviation industry with charter companies based in Mombasa. He then joined East African Airways in 1977 and on break-up of the East Africa Community was absorbed into Kenya Airways where he flew Fokker Friendship, DC9, Boeing 707 and Airbus aircraft. In 1990 Aslam formed Aircraft Leasing Services as the Managing Director and over the past nineteen years, he has transformed the operations of ALS Limited from piston engine propelled aircrafts to Beech 1900s, Caravans, King Airs, Dash 8 and ERJ145 aircraft for relief contracts. Aslam is also the Chairman of Safarilink in which ALS is a major shareholder. Safarilink is a premier safari airline with a network of connecting schedule flights to all the best tourist destinations within Kenya and Northern Tanzania. In 2003 Heliservices a subsidiary company was formed specializing in helicopter operations. He is also the Chairman of Scenic Air Safaris.
Severin Schulte is the founder and Managing Director of Severin Touristik GmbH in Germany. After his business management studies he joined the family business in 1975 to run Severin Electrodomesticos in Brazil. From 1982 until 2003 he worked as CEO for the Severin Electric Group of Companies, whose shareholder he is until today. Since the early 70s Severin travelled extensively through Africa and followed his father’s footsteps who built the Kenyan hotel Severin Sea Lodge in 1972. He expanded the tourism family business with a 4-star hotel in Sundern and became a founding shareholder of Air Berlin, the second largest airline in Germany. In 1995 he opened a TUI travel agency and Severin Travel Africa a tour operator specialized for high quality travel. During his numerous visits to Kenya he transformed Severin Sea Lodge into one of the leading hotels at the coast and built the Severin Safari Camp amidst Tsavo West National Park in 2001. Until today Severin is the Chairman of Severin Kenya. Together with his wife Cornelia and his children Christina, Julia and Sebastian, Severin travels to Kenya several times a year with his friends and business partner. He is a Director of Scenic Air Safaris.
Sebastian Severin Schulte was born in 1988 and already as a child spent countless holidays with his family in Kenya. Just like his father Severin Schulte, he feels a great love for the Kenyan people and their country. Sebastian has successfully finished the Hotel School in Salzburg, Austria in 2009. Thereafter he worked as Management Trainee with different hotels. At present he is studying Business Economics in Germany. Sebastian completed projects in Kenya during his several internships like the introduction of Standard Operation Procedures at Severin Sea Lodge in 2010. He is a Director of Scenic Air Safaris and would like to make his PPL in the near future.
Sejal Patel was born in Kenya and studied and worked as an architect and designer in the UK, after which she set up property investment companies in London, Lisbon and Nairobi. In 2003, she became one of the founding shareholders and director of ALS Europe Ltd, a UK based company combining her property and aviation interests.
With a desire to return to her homeland, and a passion for aviation, Sejal returned to Kenya where she established an architecture, design and property investment/development business, Firefly Ltd.
To date, she is responsible for the ALS terminal, offices and hangar project in Nairobi, the design for the Scenic Air Safaris hangar in Vipingo and various other projects. Sejal is currently working on eleven other projects in Kenya and is a director of Scenic Air Safaris.
Born in Kenya and has worked in tourism for over 40 years. Currently Chairman of Southern Cross Safaris, Satao Elerai and Satao Camp in Kenya and Bench International in Australia.
Was a Private Pilot and has owned four aircraft over many years. Was a keen rally driver for 21 years and won the Kenya Rally Championship 3 times as well as twice being runner up in Safari Rally.
