Johann du Toit, a third generation Kenyan, was born and raised on a farm near the town of Eldoret, in western Kenya. His African ancestry dates back to the mid 1600s when his forefathers moved from Europe to South Africa. At the turn of the 20th century, they made their way north to Kenya, some by ox-cart and others by ship.  With ‘safari’ deep in his blood, Johann has been fascinated by wildlife, particularly snakes, and open spaces from a very young age. Learning to read the landscape from local elephant trackers in Tsavo and the flora and fauna by the Maasai.
